Albert Einstein a true Original Environmentalist of all time

In search for the style of a true original environmentalist  the story today are on Albert Einstein

In this series of the great originals we will take the pulse on the 70’s radicals fashion style but first a history trip trough the original environmentalist

The probably finest quote on the environment is the words of  Albert Einstein

I am everything but the environment

In my series of the Greatest Original Environmentalist we are now entering the modern times and two of the greatest thinkers finally meet with a time span of nearly 2500 years between them both in a spiritual  and as science matter.

Buddha –  Gandhi –  Albert Einstein  – Arne Næss  – Greenpeace – Global Earth Day – World Wildlife foundation – Bellona – United Nations Environment Network

One cannot write a personal history on the largest movement in the history of all times without science of Albert Einstein

Albert Einstein who was a part of the philosophy that created modern environmental movements that shaped organizations as Greenpeace, Earth day, Bellona, World Wildlife Foundation and shared his warm humanity with us all, First of all we must remember that Einstein lived in a very difficult time, but we was a beautiful man who shared and included everybody in his world of wisdom

This is a series of the great environmentalists leading up to the 70’s Originals Environmentalist style of fashion. The 70’s was the most politically active decade of the last century.

The terrorist of the 70’s , Baader Meihof  was politically intelligent people but did go way to far and started a wave of fractions

opps come back to youThe arrest of Andreas Baader and Ulrike Meier in the most active terror terrorist  Baader Meinhof.

This is the fourth article who I try to focus finding the original environmentalists from the beginning of time and up to the 70’s. In the 70’s a large part of the established society looked upon the radicals a most politically active century a criminals, but in fact they did the dirty job than somebody else would have to do today or tomorrow when it’s too late. Who knows? But today the statuses off the radicals are different.

Einstein and Buddha shared almost the same visions about not to kill anything living included the trees and grass

Today if we continue we simply must in a drastic way change our consumer behaviour and make sustainable product design, high quality and lowest impact on nature

The greatest Original thinkers of all time

In my series of the Greatest Original Environmentalist we now entering the modern time and two of the greatest  thinkers finally meet with a time span of 2500 years s of spiritual development and science. Albert Einstein meet Prince Siddhartha Gautama who became known as the Buddha. Indian languages of Pali and Sanskrit)  means the one who has been enlightened.  They both shared almost the same ideas.

The importance of humanity in the most difficult times ahead of us

I find them clearly important in these disturbing times of all. I have seen over the last 20 years a clear shift in our social values in the western world, A change towards eastern philosophy.  From a western ego centred culture towards an eastern philosophically togetherness culture. We are still we are looked upon from the world outside as . Einstein’s words on humanity  and true religion  speaks to us in with a united voice. Einstein stated the following.

One can get critics when talk of love is not only
A human being a part of the called by us universe,as a part limited in time and space, We experiences ourself, our thoughts and feelings as something separate from the rest. A kind of optical delusional of consciousness, This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting our personal desires  and affections to a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from the prison by widening pour circles of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the of the nature in its beauty.  The true value of a human being is determined by the measure and the sense in which they have obtained liberation from the self. We shall need a substantially new way of thinking if humanity is to survive. (Albert Einstein, 1954)

We must take care of nature as nature is God

Religions who claims they have the one and only God and do not accept other people opinion or religions are not freedom or about the environment protections.  On a personal level I have talked with people of  all  different religions and accept them, but as soon as conversation lead to question of  who is my God. I end the discussion.

“Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind.” So said Albert Einstein, and his famous aphorism has been the source of endless debate between believers and non-believers wanting to claim the greatest scientist of the 20th century as their own.

Nature take care of me if I take care of nature.

If we all stopped using the car for everything we do then nature will feel better and we will feel better.

I hope for a massive global movement that include a higher level of spiritual development and less human  material progress.  We have to level it out as its unbalanced.  Unfortunately I saw the development around 1994 when I worked for a company that only one model in their jeans  line sold over 50 million pairs alone in Europe and then the sales was even down a bit from the earlier years.

Research 2000 gave me a warning and a wake up call

Key findings research from 2000 Kenneth Lyngaas (Trend specialist Levi Strauss Europe, Middle East  Africa 2000)

I stated in year 2000 in my mega trend presentation when I was the head if trend research  of Levi Strauss Middle East  Africa that it will  become a reaction that global brands exploitation of global resources and the reaction came a few years later.

Why should I care and use so much time on my blog instead of design

The fast fashion flirstWe have enough fast fashion flirts already and its killing  everything around us as it is extremely damaging on nature and its created by the fashion Industry itself

Should not I design instead

Readers might wonder that I should design and making jeans  instead of talk write about this issues instead or releasing a line or having fashion shows. I must tell them the truth that I am designing now. There are just to many people out there screaming out louder and louder the message  about the latest, finest and fastest fashion. The design of my jeans happens here and  now as I am talking about issues that are not threatening  today or tomorrow. But one day there will be no need to design because its simply nothing to design.  I became deaf after all the loud sound. So instead I turned the volume down to whispering as I might be heard then.

Einstein said once ; the one who possibly ever was close to understand The Theory of relativity was Buddha. They both shared the same idea that everything was connected and that nothing was interdependent from each other

Einstein understood if the human race would survive.

He said te following about it.  Our task must be to free ourselves from the prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the of nature in its beauty. The true value of a human being is determined by the measure and the sense in which they have obtained liberation from the self. Let us be reminded by his words

We shall require a substantially new manner of thinking if mankind is to survive.  ~Albert Einstein

Einstein believed in a global cosmic religion

A cosmic religion

We  will share a new religion the future will be a cosmic religion. It should transcend personal God and avoid dogma and theology. Covering both the natural and the spiritual, it should be based on a religious sense arising from the experience all things natural and spiritual as a meaningful unity. Buddhism answers this description. If there is any religion that could cope with modern scientific needs it would be Buddhism. (Albert Einstein). This is not new for anybody as Buddha pointed out early that everyone needed to find out the truth and if it was something for you follow it, ad wholehearted. And stated watch out “there are many charlatans” out there.

Today, a historic opportunity begins for the world to hear what he said and what he meant simply by going to the Internet — a medium that he presaged almost five decades ago.

Start with Tom Wolfe’s introduction to the man he brought to public attention and savour McLuhan’s sayings, prophecies, and insights on the electric age, television, and, yes, even himself. You will hear McLuhan talking directly to you.

Quality

My favourite DJ, in the summer 2009 at Space Terrance On Sundays I meet with Tiestö and danced my fat ass off.

He is really a nice guy as well. If you have a change to listen to his more than 100 radio show on Dutch radio you do not need any more music at all as he plays from remixed pop songs to pure trance and Techno. I know after one tune you take your pant off girls. Because this is sexy music.

I believe that quality will replace price as main driver for consumer product in the years to come. So for me working with my brand buddha jeans I strive to create jeans wear with less harm and lowest energy possible on the environment. I will make sure you wear them in and trade or sell your jeans as second-hand when the time comes. Our idea of design and creativity are based on a philosophy that everything is dynamic, inter-connected, free, re-workable and organic.  I work on principles that the designer is not just a part of the process and leave the product over into the marketing department or hand it over and leave it to the sales force and say good luck. It’s so much more too it than just hand it over to the Salvation army or is it local designers who make then its something very beautiful and you buy it on the 2nd hand market.

 My philosophy

Happiness and positive human Values are new drivers in a new economy where the bottom line now more and more needs to include the impact a product makes on the environment as well as the workers involved in production. buddha jeans  tell stories and designers need to design from a core set of Values to “Design Inside-Out”Therefore my design philosophy will create smarter solutions instead of following trends I create them. Gandhi the greatest modern enviromentalist of all time by buddha jeans

The green movement are on its way to become the new world order. I will be out very soon with a trend update The Future Is Now on one of the chapters is Te New Sustainable Design Order

A search for the style of a true original environmentalist  the story today are on Gandhi

In this series of the great originals we will take the pulse on the 70’s radicals fashion style

but first a history trip

By Kenneth Lyngaas

Buddha –  Gandhi –  Albert Einstein  – Arne Næss  – Greenpeace – Global Earth DayWorld Wildlife foundation – Bellona – United Nations Environment Network

This is a series of the great environmentalists leading up to the 70’s Originals Environmentalist style of fashion.

The 70’s was the most politically active decade

This is the third article who I try to focus finding the original environmentalists from the beginning of time and up to the 70’s. In the 70’s a large part of the established society looked upon the radicals a most politically active century a criminals, but in fact they did the dirty job than somebody else would have to do today or tomorrow when it’s too late. Who knows? But today the statuses off the radicals are different.

A few is serious about it but a lot of brands and industries still follows old patterns, in my wishes if I won the lottery this would be my main investment for life

What was the 70’s radical fashion style?

I want to look into their codex of favorite clothes and fashion; anorak, shoes, pants, tees, facial hair, music and art. But first I will dive into the scenes behind the main story and find the ancient environmentalists, Hindus, Buddhists, peace lovers and philosopher’s trough time.

Gandhi the greatest environmentalist of modern times

the simple spinning wheel that Gandhi used when any possibility happened, to spin your own clothes was his boycott of England massive production of the industrial revolution. But deep in my heart to sit like this is the highest form for meditating , do here and now, you are at the present moment in time in time and then you can set up inner peace

Gandhi an extraordinary man in an extraordinary time

Part three of Original Environmentalists from the 70’s Environmentalist is a about a small man with a simple spinning wheel charkha* concurred the British Empire. The spinning wheel is a symbol of nonviolent protest. Gandhi used the spinning wheel to boycott Britain and show how they could make cotton and not by it.and by non violence philosophy won back a contingent so vast and with so many languages, Kings and queens that it would be not even be possible to do It would never happened today unless there was extraordinary man Gandhi.

Why do we talk so much about our environment on buddha jeans

Rework reuse -rework-recycle-redo-re-upgrade

You might wonder why a designer who makes jeans talk about The Environment. First of all it’s a dirty business, an enormously dirty and sometimes most unnecessary processes as well used to meet consumer trend. I talk about it because we are in the most threatening of all times if the human race is about to survive. And in ties like this everybody should share their technology with others instead of claiming they are better or have paid more. If you ever want to come back to this sad dam beautiful world, think about it. http://wp.me/p1keER-mE follow and you see where we are coming from

Reduce use of energy level in production and gain the highest possible quality jeans

I have worked from the end of the 90’s with promoting a sustainable product design philosophy of reducing the carbon footprint and prolong the lifetime of the jeans. We can make them last three-time longer, reduce damage to environment by less washing, use of new fabrics and production method without looking non trendy, they will be the opposite.

What about marketing and packaging?

Marketing and packaging purely on a digital and up cycled based way and most creative solutions are under developing by one of UK top graphic designer who did major work in this direction together with us back in year 2000. Creative new ways to work.

Gandhi followed, understood and practices his wisdom

In my series of the world’s greatest environmentalist one can not pass Gandhi even he was mostly known as a pacifist and his no violence actions. His great value was based upon strictly follow old Hindu sets of value that are stated in the Vedas*. And he did not only read them, he understood and most of all practiced.  Hinduism written words are the oldest religious text we know of (8000 years ago). In a few of the stories especially on keeping the forest and the trees protected are stated with great wisdom and are among the first signals of protection of the nature in these text.

Buddha did develop the philosophy to the perfect harmony with nature

The Buddha was the one that practically by learning the hard way  found out that go to the extreme in one direction or the another will not give you the inner peace necessary to find happiness  based around the well know term “the middle way” who Buddha stated was the only way to become a balance and mentally healthy place to be happy. To just get more stuff keeps you happy a day or two

Gandhi did see the problems arising

Gandhi  had a unique way to be welcomed by everybody because of his humbleness and respect, one of the major reason to his non-violence message was that all poor factory workers liked him day one. He understood early on that if the things he saw in London with the industrial revolution would make technology become a tool to make fortunes fast and this greed would punish the workers to work longer, companies to steal from global recourses and that the important spiritual part of life would be suffering. imbalance is the word.

The problems with pollution in London started for real with the industrial revolution

Gandhi was the first Ad Buster member

That makes Gandhi a true “culture jammer” and it that sense Gandhi stated an early “anti consumerist culture”. His told in a letter that was sent from London about a future where the biggest problem was where to store all waste

Imagine  and Gandhi at a fashion show

If I try to imagine Gandhi at a modern fashion show today standing and making applause for every outfit he saw, the man with the round glasses would not look mad but there would still be a big smile even if he was angry. The over consumerism and waste he already new this would happen. But he would cherish the creativity.

Gandhi wore and designed a minimalism style

Gandhi wore simple clothes that conveyed his message. The practical to weary our own cloth and make your own clothes was both political and a non violence boycott. Gandhi realized if all Indians made simple clothes instead of buying it from the textile industry in England the losses ad damage would be unbearable.

Gandhi’s words and quotes are brilliant

His celebrated and often quoted statement that, ‘the Earth has enough to satisfy the need of all the people, but not for satisfying the greed of some,’ has become astonishingly relevant in 1990’s. He distinguished between ‘need’ and ‘want’ of the human being.

Future generations will have nothing left if we continue our race to become richer than ever

Gandhi also emphasized to keep in view, the Future Generations before using up natural resources by the present generation. Kamala Chowdhary has found the reflection of Gandhi’s ideas related to environment in the “Agenda 21” fashioned by the largest ever number of the nations of the world at the Earth Summit at Rio-de-Janeiro in 1992. The work in 1992 was led by Gro Bruntland was good work but stated just what Gandhi, Einstein and others said a long time ago.

In my research for 2000 – 2005 on mega trends the message was clear we must stop our exploitation of global resources

In my mega trend presentation as Trend Specialist I did year 2000 for Levi Strauss Europe, Middle East and Africa I stated the following in meeting where at least 200 leaders from Levi Strauss co from all over Europe attended. If you like you find it if you follow these short links

“Green thinking getting a better grip”

“Sustainable product there seems to be a clear shift towards product design that is build on new method and can be done technology that does les harm to the environments and cut use of non-renewable sources of energy to create the increasing demands for consumer products. When it comes to fashion and sustainability there seems to be in opposition, but in fact it can attract. There are endless possibilities to extend product life-cycle without taking away the newness reason that is fashion design”. Read the http://wp.me/p1keER-hQ

Gandhi understood both Western and Eastern culture

Gandhi was socialized in the Indian cultural tradition and was one of the few who had the knowledge and the advantage of knowing both cultures, the India and the West.

He was a dandy and seen around the popular vegtarian restaurants places

But In London he was also a victim of the fashion at the time and blended by it and tried to get the latest fashion made by English tailors. He was a dandy and was in places around where the in crowd often visited. For a time he was also the leader of the London Vegetarian Society. So Gandhi did see that both worlds has its ups and downs exactly the same Dalai Lama said in 1998 when he got the Nobel peace prize. In His speeches Dalai Lama talked about inner peace and that it can only been achieved by a life in balance. See my full photo repost the day Hate was concurred by love as I was an eye-witness when the bomb exploded on

Technology alone will not bring happiness to India

Gandhi understood clearly that technology would not bring happiness to India only.  Technology only is not the solution to a good life and if an approach as in England would progress at the same level in India it would have been on a catastrophic level. Nature could never take it if India should become on the same level of lifestyle then.

He had seen in London as well how badly infected  the water can be damaging and to keep things clean does not only keep away deadly viruses, bacteria and so on away but also to make sure the surroundings was clean. One of his tests to choose an intimate in his Ashram test in choosing his inmate in Ashram he/she cleansed his own toilet.

Gandhi on non violence

Gandhi also emphasized non-violence, as in the other field, with nature as well. All native people have the same approach to the nature from the oldest known native The Aboriginals in Australia, Indians in North America and Mayas in Central Latin America states that land can not be owned. It belongs to everybody and you take out just as much as needed. No more no less.

And Gandhi as well, the most powerful living being on the earth should not cause violence to sentient beings including the plants and animals. This was his meaning of ecological balance and peace

Inner peace on the day hate was concurred by love

In Vigeland sculpture park at night the same day of horror In Oslo I found inner peace

all images & words by Kenneth buddha jeans

the day of horror came to Oslo when a big bomb exploded in the middle of the city people was in chock

– some hours later on the island Utøya

young innocent politically interested

shot dead

without any possibilities to escape

I witness the bomb total damage

in the city centre

as I arrived just 2 minutes after the bang

my subway stations are only 200 meters from where the bomb exploded

in the evening I was to restless to sit inside

I decided to do “walking meditation”

calm my mind and try to gain a momentum

of inner peace.

Just a few block from my home is the

famous Vigelands sculpture park

I took my camera with me

and I found inner peace

Norway did a marvelous good thing this

sad day

they decided to cure hate by love

and by doing so

the act was the opposite of

what the terrorist hoped for

“who are to make people scared”

my walking meditation started at the park entrance to find inner peace

– responsibility does not lie with the leaders

– it lies with each of us

– and peace starts within us

– and when we have inner peace

– we can be at peace with those around us

– when a community is in a state of peace

– it can share that peace with neighboring communities

– when we do so we will feel love and kindness towards others

– what is important is to take responsibilities

– for all living beings and the nature around us

– where nations are fed

– and where individuals and nations are free

– inner peace can only be achieved trough the development of mental peace

– material progress is important for human advancement

– but if we forget the spiritual development

– then we get clinched to things and our mental health suffer

– we must seek for balance in life

– Buddha found out the hard way in life in his struggle to overcome suffering

– this balance Buddha referred to as the middle way

– when you have inner peace all external problems does not affect you

– without inner peace whatever how wealthy or successful you might be

– you may still be worried, disturbed or unhappy

– Dalai Lama speech on inner peace from 1998 still inspire me to write this

there are some simple guidelines to follow of what we should not do

– not to destroy life

– not to steal

– not to commit adultery

– not to tell lies

– not to take intoxicating drinks

in this park there is a famous angry boy “Sinnataggen” who have great Buddha nature

he says; you will never be punished for your anger

– you will be punished by your anger

– to you my reader who read this remember; – you, yourself, as much as anybody

– in the entire universe, deserve your love and affliction

– and as I am walking out of the park I remember; we are what we think

– all that arises with our thoughts

they actually form &make the world

I know a lot of people who do not share their happiness and that is sad

– happiness is what we seek for “thousands of candles can be lit from one single

and the lights of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decrease

-by being shared. these words are dedicated to my dear brother

who left us all earlier this year

– and to all those families and friends who lost one of their most beloved

– you have my most humble and deepest respect

– in the difficulties of all times

Finally as I enter the centre of this part of town with the name Majorstua my calmness

and my inner peace feels the emptiness at the present moment, no yesterday, no tomorrow I was just there at the present moment

– and I felt satisfied and greater because I decided to follow some advice by others to do a simple form for “meditation by walking.”

and as you can see there are almost nobody out that night. That emptiness help me with greatness to become silent inside.

everybody should now and then just turn off all your digital device and leave home, for a second or a year, the length does not matter, only that you have started developing the inner peace by being with yourself.

This is my story from the emptiest park and town in the world that night. So always try to look for a positive side in everything negative

I hope you appreciate the effort done by us Norwegians to choose love instead of hate

Thanks to Buddha for his wise words and to Dalai Lama for carrying

the deepest wisdom to everybody on this planet

I like to believe this is why art, design, technology is evolving so fast because on the internet is makes it so fast to deliver your work to so many possible share your works to others who learns from it this image was taken one year after the hit on world trade centre a lot of symbols flags decorated ground zero, there was a strong energy there, not of hate or revenge as I felt it and this home made worn out flag without all the stars not in sorrow but in power and compassion this flag is the flag of a Nation that will what ever happens stand together for freedom

this image is a very special for me as it was å taken at ground zero less than one year after the terror act its worn out, a few states missing. But a nation that will survive

Street art

I my source of inspiration of the week this week my focus have been street art in various forms. For me my real interest in street art started in 1994 travelling around in Venezuela. Before that I had done a a few walls of graffiti. It was at the same time the cultural manifesto of hip hop  culture was released with the movie Beat Street. It was great graffiti art, but did not got me real hooked before 1994. I also manage to get a copy of an amazing book ! La mueras ” In the city

The City of New York have always been a place where great artists have done their best work image by Kenneth at buddha jeans

The city landscape

Architects create space and form around that at it best can be liveable, but has dozen of limitations as they clienthave rigid form of specifications. In fact too many people involved in the decision making. Otherwise we would have remembered so many more buildings, airports  and bridges.

Street landscape

Street artist on the other side often work alone, plan out where, when, finds hidden walls, the right places to make a comment and it can be next-door the postman who is the artist. For me street artists make those forgotten holes in the city scape into art galleries where you can take a break, see something that makes you wake up or simply makes you  smile. Street artists makes my daily life liveable, get me curious and inspire me

The digital pulse

I try to take a pulse on the digital life outside my blog and dive into the history of Pop culture. To presented it in a different angle than most other do. And that is the idea; instead of give you exactly what everybody else. I think its better to have a few who like what you present that jut have a lot of stuff nobody really care about. So before I start talking about my usual serious stuff I present

The theme Space Invader was found at the most curious places in Paris around and around others cities as well

Electric age

We live in the electric age where the simple numbers of ” zeros and ones” makes the pattern of a spider web so fine tuned that I can present my favorite hand picked stuff The Novel Clicks every week for my fans

Karma

Imagine that we all together build up positive energy and used this enormous power to do the cause of  doing good things instead of bad. And focused on what we need to do and not waste our positive energy on negative souls. Why not look at the solutions not the problems. That is the attitude of buddha jeans. We can all together tart helping another, to become more careful with nature care. To tell the truth instead of lying about the situation and justify our actions or business goals, admit to change

Quality is our mantra

We believe that quality will replace price as main driver for consumer behaviour

Do not follow trends simply because somebody told you

When it comes to particularly short trends or fads in the fashion market, I need to take a standpoint. I need sometimes to give up my design look when creating a new pair of buddha jeans™ if it does not meet my standards that my guide lines tells me. Then I need to review and resist a few things and make my jeans differently. If the trends are as today when the look are “buy a second hand look” and involve production to a stonewashed and sandblast process I have to say no. Then I must think how I can capture people who have the same idea that I have. Because I can’t or won’t need please them all as longs as I set the environment before fashion trends it is my way

buddha jeans mantra

Wear In, not out

will make sure you wear your jeans in and when time comes sell them, recycle or give them away to local designers who transform them into locally made new products as shoes, bags or pillows. They sell the transformed jeans in a market or store. Our you can if you have treated you jeans with care and avoided to wash them to often you can probable sell them with a higher price in a 2nd hand sore than you originally bought them for.

Large brands you can do better

I personally think its silly to produce new jeans with the intention of make them look so worn out that most mothers would have thrown them in the bin. Instead they get some fashion geek to purchase them with more money than taste.

buddha jeans design mantra

Therefore my design philosophy must create smarter solutions when the rules are limited. Instead of following trends we create them. If you want to innovate to not ask for opinionate what you do. Try not to please everybody. You can loose a battle or two but you win the war, By doing so you win the heart of your followers and people who share your ideas of a true sustainable fashion design. You need to follow your mantra as well Stop buying three pairs of jeans, buy two instead. Wash your jeans less often only less than think is needed.  I happily share my limited denim wisdom or if I can not answer I get another guru to do it. If you follow  denim wisdom you will get the most beautiful looking jeans ever. They will last three times longer as regular jeans. But most of all it will make you feel better. And when you feel better others seems to feel better t00

Buddha the greatest environmentalist of all time ?

01 The Flow Of Let Go

In seek of the true Original Environmentalists from the 70’s

Buddha –  Gandhi –  Albert Einstein  – Arne Næss  – Greenpeace – Global Earth DayWorld Wildlife foundation – Bellona – United Nations Environment Network

This is the second article on finding the original environmentalists from the 70’s  by Kenneth at buddha jeans. First of al I would like to thanks al off you supported me with fantastic images I was missing, ev imagined need to take it.  A large part of the established society looked upon them as criminals. But today the status is different. I want to look into their codex of favourite clothes and fashion; Anoraks, shoes, pants, tees, facial hair,  music and art. But first I will dive into the scenes behind the main story and find the ancient environmental Part two of Original Environmentalists from the 70’s Environmentalist Buddha

Prince Siddhartawas born in Nepal 2500 years ago and his direction in life was already pointed out: wealth, power, money, glory and fame. He did not become all of these descriptions literally at once but if you could sold his advices on how to save he environment  today, Buddha would have filed  all the descriptions.  He became later known as The Buddha. Because he was said to either become a great king in his country, or a great spiritual master his father was of course afraid that he become a great spiritual master, so he kept Siddhata locked away the daily worries in life and instead they gave Buddha all kinds of toys to play with.

To understand the truth about our environment is the essen

The King avoided situations and happenings that might could lead to possible situations that would have broken the illusory image of a life without birth or death, without negative emotions that could trigger sadness or happiness. and he tried the best he could to void the avoidable. A life without bad or good feelings. Because the king understood early that to keep the Truth hidden for his son was mission impossible. The King knew that as soon as his son Buddha started to unfold the truth ndgain insight t the real world   that he got into the real world to experience feeling and sorry death, illnesses anger, the bitterness but also true love.

Materialism is not the way to get us happy

Buddha was a young man with a curiousness that could not stop his restless mind. Sidharta was on a constant alert always seeking for the real truth. The hunger inside Buddha could not any of his harem, storyteller, clothes or travel satisfied. Already when he was still a very young man, he realized clearly that t free The only solution too break free from this lonely emptiness he felt was to leave everything behind; to leave his father eternal love, all the wealth and power of a kingdom, his horses, clothes and the whole world of entertainment was left behind.

We can not clinch to materialism  or pure entertainment

The more Buddha realized the wall of pure entertainment and materialism was non existing, a layer disolved in front of his eyes and from that point materialism in various forms did not control Buddha.   He realized that a world dominated totally by pure entertainment was only a optic illusion taking the real focus away from a clear and stable mind. The noise of the illusion drives your mindset outbalanced and distorted your happiness. This noise was difficult to turn off as you become afraid of the state of emptiness. It makes it difficult to cut the noise because then you get afraid to hear yourself thinking. This was extreme direction was surly not the way to become happy and filled with j

Buddha jeans is buddha nature

Buddha believed that all human beings was basically born with good intention but as they got older their parents, friends media learn them about poison of life as geed, bitterness, anger, hate but also Love and compassion. You become a person that have both good and bad behaviour. But Buddha said there is a way get back and find the one you once was

buddha jeans is our small contribution to get Earth back to its natural state.

By following our own beliefs and visions buddha jeans are making a small difference. We try to make our small contribution by using sustainable fashion design in the whole process. And we also try to inspiration people to become

Too stop producing goods is not a good thing either

One night he left al the castle behind and gave all his possession the faithful servant and became an asked with almost no clothes and only eaten as little as a human must in order to survive. The stories tells that Buddha ate half a corn of rice a day, metaphorically but after several years hen became so weak that everybody thought he was dieing  then he realized a life totally without any position or food was not the way to happiness and get out his suffering,

We must learn to live in harmony

He jut got weak and lost focus and concentration and focus. As h knows was the wilderness of how to find the key to unlock the door to happiness. He was now wandering around and started instead to flow with every as he was in harmony and his mind wandering getting the troughs come and go.

The middle way is the only way

In this start he started to meditate living near by a river and became as boatman taking passenger to cross back and forth he lived there a simple man but in harmony with everythig around him.

Everything are connected in the world

And when Buddha was sitting by the river see the eternal floating of the river never stable also at float without substance yet connected in endless variations the stream of endless lives connected in a stream of emotions feelings and energy. but  still putting an in it he felt the emptiness as  his hands and realized the illusion and emptiness as well instead of stiff and hard the water passed smoothly  around his hands and mage it east for him it to move.

Buddha reached enlightenment

Finally during deep meditation Buddha found the answers he had been looking for all his life; To get out of suffering and experience true happiness and compassion for all living beings

In deep meditation for three days he finally reached enlighten and became the Buddha the first we ever knew of even there has been many before him and after him. He was not sure if he was to pass on his teachings but the first thing he talked about was the four noble truths

The only way to stop or reduce consumption is to reduce our big ego

The first truth is that life is suffering, endless sufferings but only a few climes of happiness. That only by cultivating our minds we can get out of suffering we must be able to reduce out ego so we can become more compassionate with other people

Transformation of the mind is the eccence today

This world nothing happens to a person that he does not for some reason or other deserves. Usually, men of ordinary intellect cannot comprehend the actual reason or reasons. The definite invisible cause or causes of the visible effect is not necessarily confined to the present life, they may be traced to a proximate or remote past birth.

We are responsible for our own actions for a better future

According to Buddhism, this inequality is due not only to heredity, environment, “nature and nurture”, but also to Karma. In other words, it is the result of our own past actions and our own present doings. We ourselves are responsible for our own happiness and misery. We create our own Heaven. We create our own

Small is beautiful is based upon Buddhist work ethics

Schumacher brilliant philosophies and work on a micro level to value communities over Corporations

The Buddhist work ethic and business and professional ethics would, ideally be closely tied to respect for the environment. It is well described in E.F. Schumacher’s book “Small live a simple life without act violence and simplicity

We must learn lo live in harmony and with simplicity

The middle way gives us perspective, calmness to see the truth an get a balanced life

Buddhism is the Middle Way .The keynote of Buddhist economics is simplicity and non-violence. From an economist’s point of view, the marvel of the Buddhist way of life is rationality of its pattern The cherishing of natural resources and the protection of the ecological environment; 2) Maintaining cleanliness in family life and using daily necessities simply and frugally; 3) Improving interpersonal politeness and social etiquette; and, 4) Instead of considering everything from the standpoint of one person, one race, one time-period, and one place, we should consider it from the standpoint that all humankind of all time and space should be protected in their existence, possess the right to live, and feel the dignity of life.

Karma is respect for life of all living beings

Quote of the day Happiness by buddha jeans

Daily quotes are a new an important post

Why is Happiness so important when it comes to design and work with the environment?

Happiness is a key driver in getting things done. People get so easily influenced by happy people. In Buddhism the seek for happiness is to get out the suffering and be able to share your happiness to others and for yourself.

When we are happy we get out of suffering and depression and this happiness easily calm down your mind and a stream of inner peace will happen. With inner peace you look confident and our positive energy immediately encourages people around you. Working with environmental processes often seems hard or even impossible solve, but when you have a tool named Happiness in your box it will feel more like a game where you blow away negative spirals and this attitude affect other people be more motivated .  This tool is happiness.

Happiness as Buddha stated in this enormously powerful quote are that the effect happiness  can have on other people is amazing, and when it’s shared your happiness might shine on forever.  Sadly my brother died only six months ago and I used this quote as my last farewell to him, because I now that within his heart and mine this quote will be remembered forever.

Meditation makes you happy

Meditation is proven to be an extreme  effective way  to calm down your mind, make you happy and give you energy

And I used the same reputation as in this article as Buddhist monks often have this clear and radiant light when they smile. I feel as their expression of happiness  and a  genuine attitude  the finest I know how.  This happiness seems to come from deep within a body and mind that is stable. When I look at The Dalai Lama I see the same thing.

 Your brain releases  Serotonin

Our biochemical brain have certain functions that takes care of the feeling of happiness. When we enjoy dancing or feel others skin next to your own skin, it feels great and make you happy. The enzyme who are triggering happiness is called Serotonin. This enzyme are made by a chemical processes, some people produce more others produce less. The bad thing is that some drugs especially use of drugs as E (MDMA) make your brain release your Serotonin in a high dosage. The result is a great feeling of love and compassion towards others and that feeling an stay with you from 3 – 4hrs and up to several months. But as the drug releases far more than it can produce it will be empty. When that happens a lot of people feel deeply unhappy, miserable and nothing can share you up. It usually last for a long time to recover.

Eco philosophy

Positive words and quotes can remind us to cherish what we have instead of something we not have.  It might sound childish but in fact we need to start creating great energy by use simple words. Not everything can yet be measured

You can easily surf to another page if you’re stressed

day we are in a constant stress as media and visual expressions are giving us far more worries than happiness. We think we are wealthy, but wealth comes from harmony, not from money and power. We believe we can buy feelings but we instead they buy us. We have an escape button. But do we use it? just a few things to make it better

Please stay

We must learn how to cherish how we cut, and be happy when we find a new way to old things better. It can just be a simple act, reduce washing your jeans to often. If you wash them less often they look better and last longer. That makes you save money and the environment. Buy three pairs of jeans instead of four. Make sure you buy quality jeans and look for brand who truly works with fashion design in a sustainable way. Ask questions

A paradigm shift in people values

The destruction of nature and the protection of nature are still in a great conflict.   We tell one story but in fact do the opposite People all over the world seems to wake up. Inner peace is the only way we can be able to solve global problems. Because without having inner peace we can not do freedom.

The Originals Of Environmentalism

A search for the style of an true original environmentalist Who where the pioneers of true nature lovers?

Buddha –  Gandhi –  Albert Einstein  – Arne Næss  – Greenpeace – Global Earth Day – World Wildlife foundation – Bellona – United Nations Environment Network

With this in mind I am searching for the style and fashion of  environmentalist in the 70’s who started a job that most people at that time thought was rubbish.  I dirty job but somebody need to take it.  A large part of the established society looked upon them as criminals. But today the status is different. I want to look into their codex of favourite clothes and fashion; Anoraks, shoes, pants, tees, facial hair,  music and art. But first I will dive into the scenes behind the main story and find the ancient environmentalist

Original Environmental heroes

My story about the Environmental   heroes from the  early actions in  70’s can’t start with  a story of the great thinkers and cultures who inspired  them as well. The Hindu text dated back 8000 years ago tell stories upon to act careful and keep the forest healthy. In all native cultures who have lived in harmony with nature there is one commend sentence I always keep in mind; nobody can posses and own the land, only use it for the purpose of making their tribe survive

The decade of the 70’s

The decade of the 70’s  was  a decade of political activism and clashes on democratically level . A time of extreme right and left wing terrorism, as the sky of dope from the 60’s blow away and a new reality started. A time to take actions instead of talking, about the environment but also other issues as American influence and people living in those  countries stated to reflect upon what was happening. In German society the younger people started to see the truth of American imperialism . The hard cover political talk was over and moved into the underground where terrorism  was created on a  intellectually university level. It became to the extreme,  highest and most uncompromising level in modern history.

Baader Meinhof modern intellectual terrorists

With terrorist cells as Baader Meinhof, RAF (rote arme fraction), IRA who the party members from Sinn Fein was clearly seniors . Sinn Fein still fight for the rights today but in a less violent way. Modern intellectual terrorism where Baader Meinhof with the journalist Ulrike Meier and Andreas Baader was in reality creators of modern intellectual terrorism.

buddha jeans are as dangerous as a horde of cheeps on a sunny day

Why do buddha jeans write about this? As I am a designer and researcher for a brand who has been working with Environmental problems in a design era we believes its important  to be able to look into the history and  understand   how it became a modern movement as today. In year 2000 as I presented the mega trends or Levi Strauss I indicated a large trend of a sustainable design culture will be happening as a reaction to big brands exploitation of global resources. But buddha jeans work with fashion design who at its best are as dangerous as a horde of sheep’s on a sunny day. We still work  with a long term vision on sustainable fashion design who are for me important to stress our real work in the field has be done  in this field from the 90’s . To show people that eco and a sustainable life style is more than just fashion or short fad

Eco is more than a fad

Large brands and Eco trends

Even dough big brands and a large amount of the major players in this field uses Eco as a new tool of  marketing their brands. I do not want to focus my positive energy about it; they must have to search with truth and ethics to stand for it. Whatever they claim now, water free, non wash, not sand blasted or…that just proves that they go where the trend wind goes, with a team of PR agencies holding their hands.  I will present the fashion at the time of the 70’s amongst the Environmentalism. Who was the Originals, how did they dress, their favourite brands and haircuts. People might think that they did not have any style but that is not the truth. To have no style is to have a style.

70’s was  a decade of true fashion tribes

Environment tribes  had their preferences  as anybody else; their favourite  brands, Equipements, refrences, style of design and personality, Growing beards and facial hair . I will publish a series over the next weeks so subscribe if you like it, as its important for me to know on a personal level.  This will be an ongoing story on 5 or 6 chapters during a period of  August and September. Hope this can bring inspiration and a trend input amongst modern environmentalist from fast Eco fashion  to intellectual fashion views.

Live simple, ask for less and be positive and be friendly to all living beings

We have to return and find back to the world that it once was before its to late. This way is buddha nature and that is we have the name buddha jeans. Simple as that. This is our small contribution to reverse the way we clean our house. And it is about time for a real one. Our contribution is microscopic but as important than anybody else. One jeans at the time. So enjoy my contribution

The Electric age

We live in the electric age where the simple numbers of ” zeros and ones” makes the pattern of a spider web so fine tuned that I can present today my favorite hand picked stuff  around  the globe. Only for you

Imagine that we all together used this enormous power to do the cause of good things to happen. If we all together started by helping another one, by sharing, by telling the truth instead of lying to prove our actions or business goals.

As result of this actions I get the highest quality jeans can get

Do not follow trends simply because somebody told you

Then I sometimes need to focus on few things and make my jeans in a different and new way. If the trends are as today “buy a second-hand look” with a stone-washed process and sand blast to create holes then I will not follow.

Wear In, not out.

I will make sure you wear them in and trade or sell your jeans in a second-hand when the time comes.

My philosophy

Therefore my design philosophy will create smarter solutions instead of following trends I create them. And as you know you can’t win the heart of all the consumers but you will get follower who share your ideas of a true sustainable fashion design.

Stop buying four pairs of jeans, buy three instead

The weekly Novel Click by buddha jeans

The totality of ideas, perspectives, attitudes, images, philosophy, music, design, art and creativity gain popularity across the world in a faster way than ever before. Things and ideas become the standard of mass consumption in real-time

My personal best

Every weekend I pick out a few of my personal favorite videos, images and curiosities. The videos will not only be about sustainable design or fashion. Even for a devoted fashion soul it will be boring to only do or view fashion 24hrs.Besides impulses from others work whatever media they use is very inspiring. I like to believe this is why art, design, technology is evolving so fast because on the internet is makes it so fast to deliver your work to so many possible share your works to others who learns from it

The digital pulse

I try to take a pulse on the digital life outside my blog and dive into the history of Pop culture. To presented it in a different angle than most other do. And that is the idea; instead of give you exactly what everybody else. I think it’s better to have a few who like what you present that jut have a lot of stuff nobody really care about. So before I start talking about my usual serious stuff I present

So before I say the serious stuff watch my eye candies this week.

Then I sometimes need to scary a few things and make my jeans in a different and new way. If the trends are as today “buy a second-hand look” with a process and sand blast to create holes then I will not follow.

Wear In, not out.

And as you know you can’t win the heart
